New Artist: Young De

young de.jpg Back in early '07, I did a "Back to the Lab" in The Source in which Cypress Hill's B-Real spoke on the album he was working on, titled "Smoke N Mirrors." Almost two years later, B and Duck Down Records are set to get this album into your ears on February 24th. I've heard the thing already and instantly told my former editor at The Source - who is homies with Xzibit - that it is classic material. I still think so, but now I have a bit more to add.

Young De (pronounced 'Dee') will be one to watch out for in the coming days. In addition to being all over B's album (B even said in a listening session in Hollywood that De made him step his rapping up), this Philly-bred spitter recently put out "Homeland Security," a mixtape hosted by G-Unit DJ Whoo Kid and co-starring Shady Records' Ca$his. De's followed that up with "Audio Hustlaz Vol. 1," hosted by DJ Skee and featuring B-real. Find links to download both at De's MySpace.

To make this story short and to get to this video, the first from B-Real's album, what I'm trying to say is that Young De is tighter than a hipster's jeans around the crotch.
