On the Set: B-Real f/ Damian Marley - "Fire"

As I mentioned in a previous post, I go back a few years with Cypress Hill frontman B-Real.

Naturally, when Duck Down Records publicist sent an invitation to the video shoot in Hollywood for B's video shoot for "Fire," which features Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, I made sure to get up there.

I wasn't disappointed. Although the entire video was filmed in front in a lighting stage about the size of a two townhouses, between the dozen gorgeous video models, Xzibit goofing around with said girls, his Flip HD video camera focused on either the girls or homie/producer Jelly Roll, there was a lot of clownin' going on. And that was before the son of a legend, Damian Marley, arrived from the studio with his manager and assistant.

As for the song itself, it has a simple, dancehall-drenched beat (listen to it in the YouTube clip below) that finds B-Real and Damian Marley going back to back spittin' about ... well ... I'm not sure what. Between Damian's Jamaican patois and B's rhyme style, even my trained ear is having problems figuring it out.

As a bit of a teaser, let the second video below, "Road to Zion," a track off Damian Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock" that features Nas, wet your appetite for a a collabo that we will be seeing more from in the near future (Damian's manager told me that, adding that he doesn't care if the rumor spreads on blogs, LOL).
